Scout Aged Care & Retirement Solutions was created to solve a problem we kept seeing: when someone moves into aged care or retirement living, families can suddenly find themselves responsible for sorting, packing, clearing and selling a family home, on top of everything else they're already managing.

We bring the property-related pieces together into one coordinated process: decluttering and downsizing, preparing the home for sale, and overseeing the sale through an independent agent selection process.

Our team draws on the experience of Scout Corp, a national property services firm with a background in complex, sensitive property matters. That experience means we know how to work carefully and methodically, without adding to the stress on a family that already has a lot to carry.

Samantha Mills
Founder
Selling a family home as part of a move into aged care is rarely a simple sale. There are often executors, solicitors, lenders or family members involved, a deadline to work to, and a lot of detail to get right. Samantha has spent years managing exactly that kind of property sale.

Samantha has managed large property portfolios for lenders, trustees and liquidators, works with solicitors and executors on estate property, and advises not-for-profit organisations on homes left to them as bequests. Scout ACRS brings that experience to families, taking the property side of an aged care or retirement move off their plate.

Samantha holds a Class 1 Agents and Auctioneers Licence in NSW and is an API-qualified Residential Property Valuer.
Lori Howell
Senior Property Transition Manager
Lori has worked in real estate sales and property management for more than 12 years, with a strong record on both sale results and rental returns. That means knowing what buyers notice, what a realistic sale campaign looks like, and where things tend to slow down.

At Scout ACRS, Lori’s speciality is building relationships based on trust and supporting families through what is often a highly emotional time. With her extensive property experience, she can assess independent agents on strategy, fees and expected outcome, then keep the sale on track through to settlement. Lori has handled many deceased estate and other complex sales, where clear communication matters as much as the price.

Lori holds a Class 1 Agents and Auctioneers Licence and a Stock and Station Licence in NSW.
Katie has more than 25 years of experience in property sales, management and leasing, along with the legal and financial side of property through roles in home lending, conveyancing and paralegal work. That means understanding how complex contracts and settlements fit together, and what needs to happen, in what order, for a sale to settle on time.

At Scout ACRS, Katie’s speciality is keeping the detail of a property transition organised so families don’t have to carry it. With a background in conveyancing and lending, she works closely with solicitors, conveyancers and agents on contracts, documents and settlement dates, and spots issues before they cause delays. Katie has worked on many estate sales and other complex matters, where handling things with sensitivity matters as much as getting them done.
